The successful Greek coach and the swimmer who finished fifth at the Tokyo Olympics visited Corinth Municipal Swimming Pool to talk to swimmers and parents about training and preparation for competition.
Mr Athymaritis emphasised the importance of the right mindset in training, as well as making full use of all four strokes, particularly during the developmental years.
Speaking from his perspective as an active athlete, Alkis Kynigakis told us about the challenges he faced in reaching this level. He also discussed his transition from pool events to open-water swimming.
The session continued with questions from our club's swimmers and concluded with a short series of turn drills in the pool.
We warmly thank them for honouring us with their visit and look forward to hosting another, more in-depth clinic with our swimmers!
We wish them every success in their efforts to qualify for the 2024 Olympics!
