NOK made a strong impression, competing in every Winter Championship!
With the conclusion of the Open Winter Championships in Alexandroupoli, the Nautical Club of Corinth rounded off the winter championship series in spectacular fashion!
Here is our town’s team’s performance in numbers:
56 new personal bests from 63 entries
9 top-eight finishes!
14 top-16 finishes!
14th place for our team in the Girls’ A junior category standings across Southern Greece!
19th place for our team in the combined Boys’ and Girls’ A junior category standings across Southern Greece!
The club competed in every age-group championship and in the Open category, where it was represented by Maria Boukouvala. On her debut at the championships, she set a new personal best of 2:30.82 in the 200m backstroke to qualify for the B final! Last season, NOK celebrated its first Open-category medal thanks to Thanos Diamantidis in the 200m breaststroke. He was unable to compete this time because of his studies in America.
The following swimmers represented us at the championships and all deserve congratulations (listed alphabetically by surname in Greek):
Antonopoulos Konstantinos, Geroulaki Marianthi, Geroulaki Marilia, Daskalopoulos Nikos, Dimakis Aris, Diamantidis Charis, Iliakis Giorgos, Theodorou Komnini, Kontou Marianna, Kyriazopoulos Antonis, Kyriazopoulos Ilias, Kostaras Iason, Lokosis Thanasis, Martikos Vasilis, Michalopoulou Eleni, Biniari Danai, Boukouvala Maria, Nosis Christos, Stratoudaki Meliza, Tsagri Maria, Tsagri Pavlina.
Our club’s success would not have been possible without the hard work of the swimmers, the committee and the coaches, and the support of the parents throughout our efforts.
